Right now, people across Scotland are struggling to find the right support after a cancer diagnosis. You can help us change that today.
Fundraising for a charity at work isn’t just about raising money. It can have real benefits for employees, workplace culture, and the wider community. Here’s how it can help:
· Boosts team morale and engagement
· Strengthens teamwork
· Builds a sense of purpose
· Enhances company culture
· Improves company reputation
· Helps develop new skills
· Makes a real difference
There are so many activities you can take part in to help you raise money for Cancer Card. These include:
· Taking part in a team marathon, kiltwalk or other sporting event
· Bagging a munro or going on a challenging hike
· Organising a brunch, afternoon tea or fancy dinner as part of our “Dine In Help Out” initiative
· Sponsor our comfort box initiative
· Dress down day or “Wear Yellow Day”
· Ceilidh or Christmas Night Out
By choosing Cancer Card you are helping to bring support to people across Scotland affected by cancer. From our online support directory, dedicated phoneline, community engagement programmes and comfort box initiative we provide that bridge in cancer care to ensure that nobody faces cancer alone.
If you would like to engage your team through meaningful fundraising, demonstrate measurable social impact and align with NHS-recognised support services we would love to hear from you.
As your charity partner, we can work with you to create a partnership package tailored to your organisation.
Last year, we were delighted to be chosen by Edinburgh accounting firm, Accountability to be their charity partner.
Rachel at Accountability said:
"We’ve had a genuinely lovely experience partnering with Cancer Card this year and are incredibly grateful to have played a small part in the important work they do. We’re proud to have donated 5% of our net profits, rolled up our sleeves to help pack comfort boxes, walked 20 miles in the Kiltwalk and volunteered at the glitzy Cancer Card Ball. Every event reminded us exactly why we choose to work with a charity partner each year.
These experiences gave our team the opportunity to support a local, Edinburgh charity and to learn more about the meaningful difference Cancer Card makes for people affected by cancer. We’ve loved being able to contribute and to support an organisation that puts such care, compassion and positivity into everything they do."
They managed to raise a fantastic £3,265.61 for our charity, which is a huge help and will allow us to continue our vital cancer support work.
A big thanks from all of us at Cancer Card. We thoroughly enjoyed working with the Accountability team.
Many companies decided to donate a percentage of their profits to charity as part of their corporate social responsibility strategy. This has a considerable charitable impact but it also builds brand reputation, employee engagement and can be tax efficient.
Your staff can choose as their payroll giving charity. Payroll giving is a simple, tax-free way for your team to support our charity. Every £10 donated costs your employee £8 if they pay regular tax or just £6 if they pay higher tax rates. All you need to do is enroll your business with one of the leading payroll giving organisations, as recognised by HMRC, and ask Cancer Card to be set as the recipient.
