The Specialist Health and Work team is experienced in health and work issues, particularly for those who have been affected by cancer. The service supports those who are remaining in work, returning to work or looking for a new job. We also provide a range of psychological support services.
We provide support to help people stay in their current job or when returning to work. They can be given advice and guidance through every stage. Here are a few ways we can help:
We have a number of upcoming workshops, designed specifically for people who have a cancer diagnosis. The next 2 workshops are:
Decision making skills at work (Online) Date: Wednesday 18th March Time: 1pm-2.30pm Following a long absence from work, most people will experience a loss of confidence, not only in their ability to do their job but also in their ability to make decisions. This is normal and expected but can make a return to work more challenging. In this session, we will give you the tools to start making decisions towards what it is important to you.
Return to work planning (In person) Date: Monday 27th April Time: 10am-12.30pm This workshop is designed to support people who are preparing to return to work after a cancer diagnosis. We will consider the practical aspects of returning to work, including adjustments and phased returns. We will discuss what these are and how they will help you transition back to work. We will also reflect on how to balance work alongside your ongoing health needs.
