How we can help those facing a cancer diagnosis
If you or someone you care for has been diagnosed with cancer it can be overwhelming. You may find yourself quickly caught up in medical appointments, tests and planning for treatment. There may be little time to work out how you and those around you are going to manage and adapt to the impact of cancer.
There are hundreds of charities and services that offer practical, emotional and financial support to people affected by cancer. Sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to start when the cancer has become part of your life.
Cancer Card is here to help. We have extended our phone support service for you if you are struggling to find the help you need. We can help guide you to organisations that can offer practical, emotional or financial support. We can find support groups and services near you. We can link you with benefits advisors who can help identify relevant benefits and form filling. Or we can offer you support in acessing online services that may help you get organised.
You can call us on 0131 287 3001 on Monday - Friday 9.00 - 13.00 and someone will be at the end of the phone to offer help. One of our team will reply to anymessages left in the afternoon or evening during normal working hours as soon as we are able.
Although our staff can't answer medical questions we are here to listen and to help you find the answers and support you need.
